- YOUR TOPIC HERE
Ignite is a fun night of inspiring presentations on a variety of topics, with a twist. Each presentation has 20 slides that automatically advance after 15 seconds. It is a worldwide movement. Ignite events were originally conceived as technology variety shows, but they have grown into much more than that. Ignite is about ideas. Ideas can change the world. And it takes less than five minutes to spread one. Anyone familiar with SXSW or TED will immediately appreciate the Ignite concept. Ignite events are frequently part of larger technology conferences around the world. Every Ignite presenter is deeply passionate about their topic. Some are speaking in public for the first time. But anyone can talk for 5 minutes and audiences are very supportive. Each Ignite will showcase over a dozen presentations and be video streamed Live via the internet.

About Ignite
Ignite got its start in Seattle in December, 2006, as a personal project of O'Reilly's Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis. They dreamed up an event where people could share their ideas over beer, and sent word out through their social network. On December 7, two hundred Seattle geeks looking for "a fun night of geekery and networking" squeezed into a bar on Capitol Hill. They found beer, but so much more. First up, a friendly but intense competition to build the sturdiest popsicle-stick bridge. Then 25 intrepid locals took a turn on the stage for their five-minute Ignite talks. The consensus was that it was a blast. Word got out, and other communities wanted Ignite in their cities. Brady and Bre turned the event over to O'Reilly, and nearly 250 Ignites have been held, about half of them in the past year. As Ignite entered its fourth year in 2010, O'Reilly launched Global Ignite Week to both celebrate and amplify the Ignite phenomenon. Many local Ignite events also stream live video during their events, via Ustream.tv
